Praises…Prayers

• Marriage Congratulations to Al & Lorna Teixeira!   They were married June 20!

• Pray for Barney, David Tedla & Dick Ady as they continue teaching Cambodian College students from 8-5 p.m., daily. Barney said  all  your  prayers are making a difference, and the students are sweet and open to  learning.
• Continue prayers for Vera Smith’s Sister, Margie Morig; her surgery has been rescheduled for August 19, and she  has testing on Wednesday.  Pray God will give the family His strength, wisdom and love as they prepare for Margie’s surgery.
• Lindsey Wilson is improving; pray her complete recovery will be very soon.  Pray  Baby Brayden will keep gaining and growing stronger.
• Marcy  Schuetz asked for continued prayers for Rob’s cousin, Charlie,  in northern Afghanistan; he lost a friend during fighting last week.
• Jim and Frances Mullins’ temporary address is: 1438 Featherstone Road, Woodbridge, VA 22191.   They will be moving soon into their new House.

Parent Dinner—This Saturday, August 15

All  parents of the Youth Group are invited to share a meal with our Youth Minister, Rob Schuetz and the Youth Group Team.   Rob will be highlighting the major events of the year and will be talking about his goals and hopes for the youth group.   If your Teen  is beginning the 7th through the 12th Grade, please plan to attend THIS SATURDAY!      E-Mail your  RSVP to Rob:   rob@sonoma-ave.org

City Kids Volunteers Needed for Saturday, August 22!

Please contact David Leonardo to  assist with Face Painting, Set up and  Clean up at the City Kids Festival.  David’s E-Mail is: blackfyrefenix@gmail.com.    Come and help us join hands with the other local churches in bringing  joy to the children and families.

City Kids Festival Barrel in the Foyer – Supplies due by August 16!

Help us fill the Redwood Gospel Mission Barrel with School Supplies and Backpacks (No Red, Blue or Pink…Please).   Shopping List Flyers are   on the Foyer Table; please  place your supplies in the Barrel by next Sunday, August 16.

Promotion Sunday – September 6

Sunday, September 6, will be promotion day for all Sunday School classes.  Even though many school systems begin this  month, our material and teacher schedule makes rotation on the first Sunday in September the most logical.  Thank you for your cooperation.

Helpers Needed for Children’s Play Area

Plans are proceeding for the Children’s Play area behind the Nursery.  If you would be available for clearing of debris on the Grounds, please call Lorie Melling (763-3194), or drop in at the Church anytime during a week day.  Garden tools are available (see Karen or Loreena in the Office).  Please bring gardening gloves.  Please keep your eyes open for a new or nearly new Playground Set (without swings).

Escrip Update and Renewals – HELP US DOUBLE OUR TOTALS!

Michael and Susan Wheeler would like to encourage each member to register with ESCRIP or update your  current registration at Escrip.com.  Please review  each of your registered cards to be sure you have current information.   Our contribution total is less than last year:  $271.66.   Please help us Double our Totals!   If you need assistance,  call Michael or Susan at 794-9097.
