Praises…Prayers

Pray for Kathryn Ping; she’s been very weak.

Pray for Randy Smith’s upcoming cataract surgery on February 16, that his vision in
his right eye will be restored.

Tim Nunnemaker had a blood test on Monday to see if he will start another round of
chemo. Pray for God’s Love and Peace to encircle Tim and the entire family.

Sherry Cartwright’s surgery has been scheduled for Monday, February 1. Pray her
lymph nodes will be free and clear of any cancer cells.

Virgil & Mary Anne Weare wish to thank everyone for their prayers as they mourned
the death of Virgil’s Brother, Roy Weare and Sister, Sarah Knapp in December. Your
prayers have been a great comfort.

Perspectives Class Begins Today in the Auditorium, 5-8 p.m.!
Sonoma Avenue is hosting the first Perspectives Class in a 15 week series TODAY! The
first two classes are FREE (Jan 10 & 24) and the Class Coordinators are John & Karen
Teague (Call 578-7174 with questions). Please Note: There is a $245 fee to Audit, or
obtain a Certificate for the class. Note: There is no Class on January 17.

The Blessing of Two “Rehab Wells” at Sierra Leone in Africa!
We are so thankful to report that your “Living Water” donations of $6,562, will be used to
fund two Rehab Wells in Sierra Leone, Africa! These wells will bless children and families
with clean drinking water. The check has been sent to Orphan’s Life Line of Hope
International in the amount of $6,003! New Advent Conspiracy Total: $12,565!

Pepperdine Lectures May 4-7, 2010 – Checks Due Next Sunday, Jan. 17!
Taylor Morgan will be coordinating the registration and checks for the annual Pepperdine
Lectures –“Truly a Spiritual Feast in every way”! Please pick up Registration forms on the
Foyer Table (one form for each person attending). Please make checks out to Pepperdine
University ($100 per person for the apartments); the Lectures are FREE. Please sign your
Welcome Card “Pepperdine”, or talk with Taylor if you’re planning to attend.

Financial Peace University Returns Thursday, January 21, 7-9 p.m.!
Plan to attend the next Financial Peace 13 week course facilitated by Bonnie Maddox at the
Family Life Center. Learn the process for getting out of debt; staying out of debt; and how
to set up a monthly spending plan. The cost of the membership kit is $99, if you sign up

Recycling News!
Special thanks to Virgil & Mary Anne Weare for crushing and transporting the recycling this
week! The check was for a record-making $107.56, and will be a blessing to our Children’s
Ministry! Thank you for your dedication in bringing in aluminum cans and water bottles.

Broomball at Snoopy’s Ice Arena – 5th – 8th Graders & Parents – Jan. 22!
Please sign your Welcome Card “Broomball” if you’re interested in a fun evening at Snoopy’s
Ice Arena, Friday, January 22, 10:30-11:30 p.m. (Yes, that late at night!!). Parents are Free
as Adult Chaperones, and 5th-8th Graders should bring $7.
